Our Story: A New Chapter for Ketama

The idea for Visit Ketama was born in 2017, inspired by a deep connection to the land, the people, and the rich, untapped potential of Ketama in Morocco’s Rif Mountains. At the time, the world wasn’t ready for a project like this. Life moved forward, professional paths shifted, but the dream remained alive. There was always a reason to return—always a way to support Ketama’s farmers and their communities.

A major turning point came when Morocco decriminalized cannabis, paving the way for new opportunities, open dialogue, and responsible development. This historic change signaled not just a new era for the industry, but also a fresh hope for the region and its people. Over the past few years, we quietly prepared for the journey ahead. We listened to local voices, learned from national and international experts, and built strong relationships with farmers, artisans, and community leaders who believe in a brighter future for Ketama.

Today, Visit Ketama is the result of years of planning, trust-building, and unwavering commitment. We are  therefor also more than just a travel project — we are a movement dedicated to reintroducing Ketama to the world. Not through outdated stigma, but through stories, sustainability, cultural connection, and authentic experiences.
